I first heard of the Perfect Light Educational Program during my search for an HBCU college tour. I was searching for a group that I felt my daughter would be comfortable with. I called and spoke with Kamilah Bryant, who had no problem getting my daughter connected with the program. It has been such a blessing to me and my daughter! The program has been a wonderful college resource tool! From day one, we have gotten nothing but useful information! We are so thankful for Perfect Light! In addition to the college information and preparation, and the HBCU college tours, the Perfect Light Educational Program has provided a mentor to my daughter. Her mentor was perfectly matched with her! I am so happy that I came in contact with Kamilah Bryant and the Perfect Light Educational Program!

The college tour was a learning experience that taught me a lot about the college admissions process and maturity. This is my second college tour with Perfect Light.
Light college counselors helped me to find scholarships and helped me raise my ACT
score. I met a lot of cool people from Cali and the Midwest who I still keep in touch with. As far as the activities, Daytona Beach was hecka fun! It was soo pretty, especially at night. The highlight of the tour was applying to the colleges while on the tour and getting phone calls from my parents saying that I was accepted. That is the most rewarding feeling ever! Over all, everything about the tour was great. The chaperones were cool, the food was good and my roommates were fun! Because of this experience I will be attending South Carolina State University in the fall of 2009. I will always be a part of the Perfect Light family.

Perfect Light’s cultural college tours are a wonderful opportunity for high school students to learn about the historically Black colleges and universities. Their exposure to the Perfect Light program, campus life and experiences on the tour will all help to prepare them when they decide to go to college. The preparation and fine attention to detail is what is most impressive about this tour. It offers students much more than visits to colleges it is a holistic learning approach that includes heritage and culture. This type of experience is what will help to cultivate the minds of our future leaders.

Last year I was interested in the colleges but having fun was priority. This year was about learning about the schools so
that I can make an informed decision. The best part of the tour every year is the beach. I plan to take a different route every year so that I can really know what’s out there for me. I can’t wait to do it all over again next year.

The Perfect Light Black college tour was a lot of fun.
My favorite parts of the tour were our oceanfront hotel on Daytona Beach, our tour of South Carolina State University and meeting all the new people some of whom came from as far as California. I can’t wait to go again this year!
